2024-2025 Key Events for Foreign and Ecxhange Students at KMU

Typically, at Kookmin University (KMU), a community known as ‘Global Nanumi’ is in charge of the welfare of foreign and exchange students, ensuring that they enjoy their time at the university. Annually, Global Nanumi conducts various events intended to help international students feel included, valued, and connected to the university community.

 

 

Midterm Exams Snack Event (Oct.14-18, 2024)

 

 

 


Midterm examinations are normally held in April, a time of year that is characterized by hard work among KMU students. To help its students cope with this rather challenging period, the university hosts a Midterm Exams Snack Event.

 

 

Final Exams Snack Event (Dec.2-6, 2024)


Final exams can be a source of intense stress as learners prepare to transition to the next academic level and the school year winds down. To alleviate this pressure, KMU gives students a much-needed break in form of the Final Exams Snack Event.

 

 

 

 

 


Teacher’s Day Celebration (May.14, 2025)


Like many other teaching institutions, KMU fosters the spirit of gratitude every May by celebrating Teacher’s Day to recognize the efforts of university faculty. It is an occasion where students get to show how much they care for their faculty and, in return, faculty members get to express how much they care for their students. It imbues the entire campus with a sense of family.

 

 

 

 


Graduation Day for Foreign Students (August and February)


The day students graduate from KMU is a special one, especially for international students who have traveled long distances to fulfill their academic aspirations. Graduates get to have professional group photos taken with their friends and families. The photos are developed on the spot, and each graduate is presented with a well-framed photo to commemorate their time at KMU.

 


Cultural and Historical Exploration Program (October)


Cutural and Historical Exploration Program offers international students the opportunity to experience South Korea’s historical locations. This October, the program will go to Gyeongju, where international students can explore cultural sites and engage in traditional experiences. Additionally, a professional culture interpreter will accompany and provide detailed explanations about historical backgrounds and significance of each location. This program enhances foreign students to understand Korean culture deeply, making them to adapt to Korean society well.
