Students Lee Yong Jin, Kim Hyun Jun, and Kang Su Jin (supervised by Professor Kim Jong Seong) from the DF&C (Digital Forensic & Cryptanalysis) Laboratory, Department of Cyber Security, Graduate School, have won the Excellence Award in the Tech Contest category at the 'Digital Forensics Challenge 2025'.

The 'Digital Forensics Challenge' is a digital forensics competition sponsored by organisations including the National Intelligence Service and the Korea Institute of Information Security & Cryptology. Held annually, it aims to broaden the base of digital forensics technology and cultivate next-generation specialists. This year's competition comprised two categories: Problem Solving, addressing real-world digital forensics issues, and Tech Contest, where participants freely proposed and demonstrated novel forensic techniques. The awards ceremony took place during the K-DFW Digital Forensics Challenge 2025 on 11 November.

The DF&C Laboratory, led by Professor Kim Jong Seong, conducts research on digital forensics and cryptanalysis, achieving outstanding results annually at major domestic and international academic conferences and competitions (Lab. Homepage: dfnc.kookmin.ac.kr).
