The Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul) Alumni Association officially elected alumnus Kim Hyung Nam as its 42nd President at the Seoul Olympic Parktel on Friday, 31 October.

The newly elected Chairman Kim Hyung Nam graduated from Kookmin University's Department of Law and subsequently obtained a Doctor of Juridical Science degree from the university's graduate school. He served in the public sector, holding positions including Administrative Officer at the Presidential Secretariat, Head of the Daejeon Branch of the Financial Supervisory Service, and Head of the Human Resources Development Office. He later served as Full-time Auditor at Samsung Futures and Full-time Audit Committee Member at Hana Asset Trust. He is currently Vice Chairman of Daol Investment & Securities, having previously served as its Standing Auditor. He has contributed to the alumni community, having served as President of the College of Law Alumni Association and as a Standing Advisory Committee Member of the General Alumni Association.

Approximately 200 alumni attended the inauguration ceremony, including President Jeong Seung Ryul, faculty members holding administrative positions, former Hite Jinro CEO Yoon Jong Woong, and former Ulsan Metropolitan City Mayor Park Maeng Woo.

Chairman Kim Hyung Nam presented a plaque of appreciation and commemorative gifts to former Chairman Park Hae Jin, who had devotedly led the alumni association for eight years from the 38th to the 41st term. He expressed his aspiration to build upon the former chairman's achievements and lead the General Alumni Association towards a new leap forward.

In his inaugural address, Chairman Kim Hyung Nam stated, ‘If the past eight years were a time of consolidation, uniting alumni through “harmony”, the forthcoming 42nd term will be a time of innovation, building upon this gathered strength to create a “vibrant General Alumni Association that communicates and thrives together”.’ He further emphasised, ‘As our alma mater continues to innovate in future technology fields such as AI and quantum security, the Alumni Association must make a tangible contribution to ensuring the university's vision yields societal results.’
