The plaque presentation ceremony for the AI Star Fellowship Program, led by Professor Lee Jae Koo of our university's Department of Artificial Intelligence, was held on August 28. Attendees included Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyung Hoon, our university's President Jeong Seung Ryul, presidents and vice presidents of domestic universities, the chairperson of the AI Graduate School Council, and emerging researchers in the AI field. Participants discussed policy tasks and necessary support requirements to enable undergraduate students in AI and software (SW) fields to grow into outstanding emerging researchers through AI graduate schools and leap forward as top AI scholars.

Professor Lee Jae Koo presented on ‘Strategies for Cultivating Top-Tier AI Talent from the Perspective of New Professors’. He analyzed the perceived effectiveness of AI R&D support from the perspective of emerging researchers and conveyed the field's voice, highlighting the need for research support, administrative support, and performance rewards. He also emphasized the importance of supporting the establishment and nurturing of emerging researchers who will lead the AI industry.
