Professor Lim Jae Bong (Electrical Engineering Major) donates one hundred million won as development fund.

Professor Lim (Electrical Engineering Major) donated one hundred million won as a development fund for raising scholarships for the Electronics and Telecommunication College, at the president’s room on May 2nd at 11am.

“It’s very tiny in comparison with the benefits I’ve been given from this university as a professor for 30 years. I felt as if it was my affair since young engineers can’t achieve their dream in the engineering field because of real problems such as making money for tuition, getting jobs and the trend of avoiding the engineering field in our society. I hope students from low-income families, even if they have high grade in school, will understand my intention for helping their study little bit,” Professor Lim said at the fund delivering ceremony.

“I express my gratitude for your warm heart and performing good deeds for our university on behalf of the campus. As in the past, the growth engines of Korea will be a result of the engineering field in the future. We will cherish the development fund you donated as your intention,” Dean Yu Ji Su said.

Professor Lim started his career in 1982 at our university and has taken roles as a Director of the Microwave Integrated Circuit lab, Electronic Calculating Director and the Dean of Electrical Engineering. He has brought educational-industrial cooperation outcomes related to the information and communication fields as well, such as a GPS system, optical repeater design, wireless communication application system, etc.
In addition, he has been leading the information and telecommunication field in our university by taking on technology analyst roles at various information telecommunication companies such as SKT, and Samsung Electronics.
Three times since 1995, Professor Lim has donated a total of 3,350,000 won, for developing the engineering field.
