Professor Yu Ji Soo elected as the 10th President of Kookmin University

The board of trustees of the Kookmin University Foundation (Chairman: Han, Jong-Woo) appointed Professor Yu Ji Soo (柳智穗, 59) as the 10th President of Kookmin University on February 7th.

President Yu graduated from Seoul National University, received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

President Yu joined Kookmin University as a professor of Business Administration in 1987. Since then, he served as the Vice President for Financial Adjustments, Dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration, Dean of the College of Economics and Commerce, and Vice President for Research & Exchanges. President Yu is an expert in Business Administration and auto industry. His credentials and experiences include: Member of the Samsung Airlines (Samsung Techwin) Advisory Committee, Board Member of the Korean Production & Operations Management Society, Advisor of the Hyundai-Kia Motors Auto Forum, and President of the Korean Academy of Motor Industry. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Korean Academy of Motor Industry and Korea Auto Forum, Advisor of the Hyundai Motor Group Human Resources Development Center, and Advisor of law firm Yulchon.

President Yu Ji Soo’s term will start this year on March 6 and end on March 5, 2016.
His inauguration ceremony is scheduled to be held in March.
