Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul) announced that its Career Development Support Center (Director Sohn Jin Sik) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Gangnam-gu Single-Person Household Community Center on December 9, 2025, to strengthen the employment capabilities and support the self-reliance of unemployed young people living alone. This agreement was established to jointly address the growing employment challenges faced by young people in single-person households and to expand tailored employment support and opportunities for social participation.

Through this agreement, both institutions will jointly plan and operate tailored employment support programs for unemployed youth in single-person households, promote expanded participation in youth policy, and implement programs to strengthen employment capabilities. Additionally, they plan to gradually provide tailored services for youth preparing for job changes or career transitions.

This agreement holds significant meaning as it formalizes a cooperative framework based on a special employment lecture for local youth conducted by Kookmin University's Career Development Support Team during their visit to the Gangnam-gu Single-Person Household Community Center last November. The two institutions will conduct a user needs survey in December to establish an annual roadmap and launch full-scale programs starting in the first half of 2026.

Sohn Jin Sik, Director of the Career Development Support Team, stated, “This agreement allows Kookmin University to introduce the employment support capabilities accumulated over eight years of operating the University Job Plus Center to young people in single-person households in Gangnam-gu,” adding, “The signing of this agreement between the two institutions is a meaningful starting point for strengthening the foundation for self-reliance among young people in single-person households.”
