Kookmin University (President JEONG, SEUNG RYUL) was re-selected as a university operating the University Job Plus Center (Base Type) project by the Ministry of Employment and Labor on Tuesday, February 20th. KU successfully completed the first cycle of the project for six years, starting with the University Job Center Project (Small) in 2018, followed by the University Job Center Project (Large) and the University Job Plus Center Project (Base), and was re-selected in 2024.
Kookmin University has benefited from a one-year extension of the project for three consecutive 'excellent' evaluations during the last five years of the first cycle, and has achieved great results by establishing a systematic career development support system and linking integrated counseling services to serve as a hub for career, employment, and startup services in the university, receiving 'excellent' evaluations four times out of six years of operation.
The re-selected College JobPlus Center (base type) project will be operated for a total of five years from 2024, during which time it will strengthen the role of the College JobPlus Center, which has been operated for the past six years, and upgrade the demand-driven career and employment support infrastructure built through the project. In addition, we will strengthen linkages and collaboration with related organizations to expand employment support services for local youth, and operate differentiated base-type programs to strengthen the employment capabilities of students and local youth.
In particular, as a university that operates a bases-based university job plus center project, we plan to enable local youth to participate in related programs through one-on-one counseling rather than one-time counseling and program participation, and to provide one-on-one counseling to help students who have participated in bases-based programs to properly express their experiences in their personal statements.
