The New President of KMU, Professor Jeong Seung-Ryul

 

On Tuesday, Jul.11, the Educational Foundation of Kookmin University (KMU) appointed Professor Jeong Seung-Ryul, who is a professor within the Business IT major at KMU Graduate School of Business IT, as the 13th president of KMU.
Professor Jeong Seung-Ryul holds a degree from the Department of Economics at Sogang University, as well as a master's degree in Business Informatics from the University of Wisconsin. Moreover, he earned a doctorate in Business Informatics from the University of South Carolina at Columbia.


Having become a professor in the Department of Information Management at KMU back in 1997, Professor Jeong Seung-Ryul has undertaken various crucial roles within the institution. These positions include Dean of the Graduate School of Business IT, Vice President for External Relations, Vice President for International Affairs, Vice President for Planning & Budgeting, Director of Career Development, and Executive Vice President for Planning. He had also fulfilled the role of President for the Korean Society for Internet Information (KSII). 
The incoming president will serve a term of four years, starting from Sep.1, 2023, until Aug.31, 2027.
