Kookmin University (President Ji-soo Yu) was finally selected in the ‘2015 University Start-up Business Support Program’ that was supervised by the Small and Medium Business Administration. The University Start-up Business Support Program is a project that was designed to accelerate ‘Start-up business base of universities’ by selecting a university with excellent competence for start-up business support in the University Start-up Business Support Program, discovering business items and supporting business start-up including education on business while constructing a special model of start-up business support to accelerate business promotion.

Previously, Kookmin University defined entrepreneurship as the educational philosophy of the university and executed innovative business start-up activities by installing a support team. As a result, Kookmin University was selected solely in the metropolitan areas and was able to annually receive a maximum of 2.5 billion won of business budget for three years.

Kookmin University made a vision for Kookmin*Business Start-up Program that cultivates ‘urban innovation and global creative convergence start-up,’ and the major businesses include as follows; ▲ commercialization of a business item, ▲ support on practical business start-up, ▲ Im3D business for urban innovation, ▲ support on ecology of local business start-up, ▲ global springboard business, and ▲ support on women and business-vulnerable class. Through these activities, Kookmin University will take the roles as the regional base of business start-up ecology in the north central urban area.
