Kookmin University was newly selected to the “2014 Leaders in INdustry-university Cooperation (LINC) Cultivation Project” that was supervised by the Ministry of Education and executed by the National Research Foundation of Korea. With this, 4 billion won will be granted annually for three years, amounting to a total of 12 billion won of financial support.
For the screening of the LINC Cultivation Project, comparative evaluation was implemented among 43 newly participating universities and 51 universities that previously participated in the existing Phase 1 project. In the screening, Kookmin University fiercely competed with 10 universities targeting metropolitan community and finally, it realized splendid achievement by being newly and solely selected with Chung-Ang University.
In this project, four colleges including the College of Automotive Convergence, Natural Sciences, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Design as well as the School of Management Information Systems will participate in the field of “Future Mobility” and “Health Care” and through the realization of practically converged education system and creative business cooperative model, cultivation of practical human resources and global hidden champions are to be supported.
Vice-president Hong-jae Eom of Kookmin University’s LINC Project said, “Kookmin University has exerted efforts aiming to become a leading academic institution specialized in industry-university cooperation and through the selection of 2014 LINC Project this time, I am sure it will be Korea’s most inspired industry-university model and paradigm.
