President Ji-Soo Yu visited Saudi Arabia from April 13th to 18th with the delegation of Kookmin University including Director Seung-ryeol Jeong of Foreign Cooperation Center and Professor Dong-eok Kim of University Culture on the official invitation from the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia. In this invitation, the delegation team participated in the 5th International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education that was held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Including 13 Korean universities, 450 universities from 34 countries participated in this event and about 30 thousand people visited for four days.
During the exhibition period, President Yoo had a meeting with key figures of the Ministry of Higher Education including Minister Khalid Al Ankary, who received the honorary doctorate degrees in Kookmin University in October 2010, president of King Abdulaziz University, president of Al Yamamah University, and vice-president of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University to introduce the educational competence and infrastructure of Kookmin University while discussing multidimensional interchange cooperation.
Through the visit this time, it is expected to not only create educational and research cooperative opportunities with organizations of higher education in Saudi Arabia but also vitalize the induction of foreign students from Saudi Arabia.
