Walking around the campus, we can see foreign students quite often. However, if we get to talk to them, most of the time we are surprised because there are many of them who can speak Korean more fluently than we have expected. Most of the foreign students learn Korean through the Korean language program at the Institute of International Education. They speak highly of the program in that it is very systematic and outstanding.
Korean language center at the Institute of International Education runs Korean language program consisted of regular course and short-term course. In addition, from this semester, a training course is being established for systematically promoting teachers capable of Korean language education. This is to look into various processes of Korean language education center at the Institute of International Education that has been reorganized and to introduce its features. • Learning Korean
  The Institute of International Education provides two forms of Korean language program, regular course and short-term course for those who want to learn Korean language. The regular course focuses on speaking, listening, writing and reading and students with a goal to matriculate at Kookmin University take this course. It is operated on a semester basis. The short-term course is designed for the foreign students to focus on training Korean language within a short period of time and to experience Korean culture. • Becoming a Korean language teacher
  For those who are dreaming on Korean language teacher should note the training course for Korean language teacher; a course to be established by the Institute of International Education. This is for the local residents and foreigners engaged in Korean language education and the practical curriculum is characterized by integrating theory with practice. Enrolled students and graduates of Kookmin University get the benefit of educational expenses and in case of completion, extra points will be added when Korean language education center recruits a teacher. Those with bachelor's degree or expected to graduate can apply by no later than Mar. 16th.
  Those who are learning Korean should learn accurately and those who are teaching should also learn the way of teaching precisely. The Institute of International Education establishes a separated education process for Korean language education and fostering Korean language teacher and provides more systematic and high quality education.
